Gideon Lester

Gideon Lester (b. 1972) was Acting Artistic Director of the American Repertory Theatre (A.R.T.) from 2007-2009. He is a Professor at Columbia University's School of the Arts, where he teaches interdisciplinary courses in collaboration and adaptation. Lester was born in London in 1972 and studied English Literature at Oxford University. In 1995 he went to the States on a Fulbright grant and Frank Knox Memorial Scholarship to study dramaturgy at the A.R.T. Institute for Advanced Theatre Training at Harvard.
