The Gonbad-e-Kabud is one of three Seljuk Tomb Towers of great beauty, of which this tower is the most striking. It was completed in 1196, and is a terracotta coloured polygonal brick tower which originally had a dome. The walls appear netted lite a contaloup melon and is finished with tiles of the purest turqoise imaginable. (Robert Byron)
