Holland

Holland is a neighborhood in the Northeast community in Minneapolis. Its boundaries are 27th Avenue NE to the north, Central Avenue to the east, 17th Avenue NE to the south, and University Avenue NE to the west. The neighborhood is represented in the Neighborhood Improvement Program by Holland Neighborhood Improvement Association, located at 2516 Central Avenue NE. Holland neighborhood and Holland School were named after Josiah G. Holland, an American educator, novelist and poet, born in 1819 in Massachusetts. The Holland Elementary School, which is actually located south of the neighborhood at 1536 6th Avenue NE, closed in 2005. Edison High School lies within the neighborhood.
