Hyderabad (/ˈhaɪdərəbæd/; Telugu: హైదరాబాద్ [ɦəjd̪ərɑːbɑːd̪], Urdu: حیدرآباد [ɦɛːd̪(ə)raːbaːd̪]) is the capital of Andhra Pradesh, India. Hyderabad is known by the sobriquet City of Pearls. As of 2011, the city is one of the largest metropolitan of India with an area of 650 square kilometres (250 sq mi) having the population of 6,809,970 and further 7,749,334 living in the metropolitan area, making Hyderabad the fourth most populous city and the sixth-most populous urban agglomeration.
