If Not for You is Olivia Newton-John's first studio album. It followed her release of one single in 1966 ("Till You Say You' ll Be Mine") and her participation in the soundtrack of the film Toomorrow. If Not for You marks the start of a prestigious career in which she has sold more than 100 million albums. The album was very well-received in England and Australia, where Newton-John was already popular. However, it was a failure when it failed to top the U.S. charts.
