James Ware

James S. Ware (born 1946) is the chief judge of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California and his chambers are in San Francisco, California. Born in Birmingham, Alabama, Ware received a B.A. in 1969 from California Lutheran University and a J.D. from Stanford Law School in 1972. Ware was a U.S. Army Reserve Second Lieutenant in 1972 and also served in the U.S. Army as a Military Police Officer in 1973. Ware also served as a U.S. Army Reserve Captain in the Military Police from 1973 to 1986 after graduating from Stanford Law School.
