Jamestown

Jamestown is a city in Stutsman County, North Dakota in the United States. It is the county seat of Stutsman County. The population was 15,427 at the 2010 census, making it the eighth largest city in North Dakota. Jamestown was founded in 1872. Jamestown is located at 46°54′20″N 98°42′11″W / 46.90556°N 98.70306°W / 46.90556; -98.70306 (46.905641, -98.702994) at the confluence of the James River and Pipestem Creek. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 12.5 square miles (32 km), of which 12.4 square miles (32 km) is land and 0.1 square miles (0.26 km) (0.40%) is water.
