Joan Lougheed

Joan Lougheed is a Registered Nurse. She graduated from the Hamilton Civic Hospital School of Nursing in 1972. Her career began as a staff nurse in the ICU and RR of the Hamilton General Hospital. During further career moves she worked in the Nephrology and OR Departments of St. Josehp's Hospital , Hamilton, before experiencing pediatric care at the McMaster University Teaching Hospital. While working for the VON in Halton, she move into program development and planning, to improve the home support for families coping with illness at home. Her work in cancer care and palliative care included community outreach programs, coordinator of the Palliative Care Volunteer Visiting Program, and Cancer Clinic Home Resource Nurse at Joseph Brant...
