Kathy Kirby

Kathy Kirby (born Kathleen O'Rourke; 20 October 1938 – 19 May 2011) was an English singer who was reportedly the highest-paid female singer of her generation.. However this appears to refer to the early Sixties and in particular BBC payments. By the late Sixties there were clearly other British female vocalists who clearly earned more than Kirby. She is best known for her cover version of Doris Day's "Secret Love" and for representing the United Kingdom in the 1965 Eurovision Song Contest, where she came in second place.
