Khormuj is the center-city of Dashti County of Bushehr Province. The other major town in Dashti County is Kaki. Khormuj, located 84 km southeast of the city of Bushehr, is a town with a cluster of nearby villages such as Jaqapu, Derazi, Miankhoreh, Faghih Hasanan and Zayer Abbas. The population of Khormuj is about 31,000. People are mainly farmers, with the main product being dates. Notable people of Khormuj include Khalou Hossein Dashti who fought British invaders circa 1915.
