Kinloch

Kinloch (from Scottish Gaelic: Ceann Loch) is a small but growing town on the most northerly bay of Lake Taupo, 20 kilometres (12 mi) northwest of Taupo on the North Island Volcanic Plateau of New Zealand. It is in the Waikato Region. After its origins as a sheep station, Kinloch was soon in demand for holiday makers placing "baches" or holiday houses next to the lake. Kinloch has a mixture of permanent residents and holiday makers. The lake is used for trout fishing, alongside water-skiing and wake boarding. The town has a Jack Nicklaus Golf Resort partly opened and a 10 hole local course.
