Kuchesfahan (Persian: كوچصفهان, [kuːtʃesfæˈhɑːn], Gilaki: Kochesfahan [kʊtʃesfəˈhən]; also Romanized as Kūcheşfahān and Kuch-i-Isfahān; also known as Bāzār Kūcheşfahān and Kushk-Isfagan) is a city in and the capital of Kuchesfahan District, in Rasht County, Gilan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 8,351, in 2,463 families. Some etymologists believe that in the past, a number of people from Esfahān had migrated to this city, therefore it was named Kuch-e Esfahān. Kuch is the Persian (and Gileki) for migration, and Kuch-e Esfahān means The Esfahān Migration.
