Läther

Läther (pronounced "Leather") is an album by Frank Zappa which was released on CD posthumously in 1996. Produced by Zappa in 1977, the recordings contained in Läther were made between 1972 and 1977 (with one track from 1969). Läther was originally delivered to Warner Bros. in 1977, but the label refused to release it, leading Zappa to reedit it as four separate albums: Zappa in New York (two versions; 1977 and 1978), Studio Tan (1978), Sleep Dirt (1979), and Orchestral Favorites (1979). After Zappa in New York was released, Warner Bros. demanded four more albums, leading Zappa to sue the label.
