Lam Tin

Lam Tin (simplified Chinese: 蓝田; traditional Chinese: 藍田; Jyutping: laam4 tin4; literally "blue-field") is an area in the Kwun Tong District in southeastern New Kowloon, Hong Kong. Lam Tin is primarily a residential area, though it also hosts a major transport interchange and the location of several renowned shopping attractions. Lam Tin was once a large field in the vicinity of Kowloon Bay. Under the Song Dynasty, it was the site of salt production. Over time, houses replaced the salt fields, and during the 1980s a number of large building projects transformed Lam Tin.
