The Makrynoros or the Makrinoros mountains (Greek: Μακρυνόρος, Modern: Akarnaniko, Katharevoussa: Akarnanikon) is a mountain range dominating the northern part of the Aitolia-Akarnania prefecture in western Greece. Its length is approximately 25 to 30 km from north to south and its width is approximately 10 km from east to west. The Ionian Sea lies to the west. The mountain is surrounded by the GR-5/E55 (Antirrio - Messolongi - Agrinio - Ioannina) and the future Ionia Odos to the west. Forests are found in the outer part of the mountain, bushes are sporadically found, grasslands and rocks along with ledges cover the rest of the mountain range.
