Marcia Langton

Marcia Lynne Langton (born 31 October 1951, Brisbane, Australia) is one of Australia's leading Aboriginal scholars. She holds the Foundation Chair in Australian Indigenous Studies at the University of Melbourne, Australia. The program she heads is based in the University's Faculty of Medicine (Faculty of Arts, until 1 January 2007). Marcia Langton was born in 1951 and grew up in south-central Queensland and Brisbane, Australia, as a descendant of the Wiradjuri and Bidjara nations.
