Melvin Simon

Melvin Simon (October 21, 1926 – September 16, 2009) was an American businessman and film producer, who co-founded the largest shopping mall company in the United States, the Simon Property Group, with his younger brother, Herbert Simon. Melvin and Herbert Simon jointly purchased the Indiana Pacers in 1983, and are credited with keeping the team in Indianapolis. Melvin Simon died on September 16, 2009, at the age of 82. He was survived by his wife of 37 years, his second, Bren Burns Simon. A previous marriage ended in divorce.
