Miguel Herrera

Miguel Ernesto Herrera Aguirre (born February 18, 1968) is a retired football defender and the head coach of Club América. He was born in Cuatepec, Hidalgo, México. As a player, Herrera made his first debut with Querétaro FC in 1990. Then he moved to Atlante FC in 1991, where he would remain until 1995. He was then sold to the now defunct team Toros Neza. The club would reach its first final in the "Verano '97" season, ultimately losing to Chivas with a total score of 7-2. In 1999, Herrera returned to Atlante for one more year before he would retire and pursue being a coach.
