Naupactus

Naupactus or Nafpaktos (Greek: Ναύπακτος, rarely Έπαχτος; Latin: Naupactus or Naupactos; Italian: Lepanto), is a town and a former municipality in Aetolia-Acarnania, West Greece, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Nafpaktia, of which it is the seat and a municipal unit. It is the second largest town of Aetolia-Acarnania (after Agrinio), situated on a bay on the north side of the straits of Lepanto. The harbour, one of the most scenic on the northern coast of the Corinthian Gulf, is accessible only to the smallest craft.
