Discussion & Reviews

Actually, #1 should be Neil Young And Crazy Horse, though i am a big fan of Neil in all incarnations. except for a few of those 80s Geffen genre records.

RIGHT ON! Neil has more energy, guts, brains, heart, soul and COOL than anyone! And he's the best singer, songwriter, and lead guitarist of all time! Plus, his acoustic work ain't bad either! And his electric music is the heaviest sound in all of music.

Finally, a list showing Neil #1. Many people don't like his 80s albums, but I love ReAcTor. Great albums, great live shows, many great live recordings & nobody's cooler than Neil.

No artist has remained as productive, talented, and consistently true to himself over a multiple decade period as Neil Young. One could argue that Bob Dylan shares this title but I would argue that Bob's singing talents are 95% gone now that a frog has taken over his throat. That combined with the times where he lost touch with reality (that awful, infamous Letterman "Like A Rolling Stone" appearance, etc.,) exclude him from claiming the same title. Also, Neil has always stepped up to the plate at big events to prove he deserves this status: The Last Waltz, Bob Dylan's 50th Birthday Concert, the MTV Awards with Pearl Jam, Farm Aid 1998 with Phish, Led Zeppelin's R&R Hall of Fame induction, The Pretenders' Hall of Fame induction, the televised Katrina in-studio live special, etc., etc., etc.
