New Eltham railway station

New Eltham railway station is in the Royal Borough of Greenwich in south-east London, in Travelcard Zone 4. The station, and all trains serving it, are operated by Southeastern. Originally opened in 1878 as Pope Street Station, it was intended to be a luxurious station for first class season ticket holders. The station has been added to the DfT "Access for All" scheme and should therefore enjoy step-free access from 2012-2015. Until then, only Platform 1 (London bound) is accessible without using steps. Trains from the station run eastbound to Dartford, Gravesend, or to London Cannon Street via Slade Green, and westbound to Cannon Street, or London Charing Cross via Lewisham.
