Petr Stančík

Petr Stančík (Czech pronunciation: [petr stantʃiːk]; born 9 June 1968 in Rychnov nad Kněžnou) is a Czech author, poet, novelist, essayist, dramatist and advertising copywriter. The author’s parents are teachers. Petr Stančík graduated from secondary school in Hradec Králové in 1985. Until 1989 he performed many manual jobs. From 1989 to 1991 he studied directing at the Academy of Performing Arts (DAMU) in Prague, but left the school. From 1992 to 1995 he worked as a TV director, and since 1995 he has been earning his living as an advertising copywriter and consultant.
