This is a two record set that featured the songs of two composers. The first record was devoted to the work of Bert Kaempfert while the second featured the music of Burt Bacharach. The release of this set marks the first instance where Mathis devoted a full album to the music of a single composer. The Kaempfert album was recorded in Europe in 1969 and was released as a single record album in the UK in that year.
