St. Louis

St. Louis is a city in Gratiot County in the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2000 census, the city population was 4,494. The 2010 census estimate places the population at 7,482. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 3.0 square miles (7.8 km), of which, 2.9 square miles (7.5 km) of it is land and 0.2 square miles (0.52 km) of it (5.30%) is water. It was long recognized that St. Louis sits at the geographic center of Michigan's lower peninsula "as closely as can be determined."
