What are the worst movies based on TV shows? While there's no doubt that some great television shows have made the leap to the big screen, sometimes, it's just a terrible idea. That's what this list is about: The movies that absolutely, positively, should never have been made. Ever. Vote for the movies you agree were just such an awful idea to make, and feel free to add any that might be missing.
Some of the horrible movies based on TV shows were just doomed from the start, and some were surprisingly awful (because really, the TV shows they're based on were great). Who on earth thought it was a good idea, for example, to make a movie version of 'It's Pat'?! The same can easily be said of 'The Dukes of Hazard.' The movies in this list are often excrutiating to watch, and certainly many are among the worst movies of all time.
Okay, to be fair, sometimes a film version of a TV show really is fantastic. The 1998 version of 'The Avengers' deserves a (high) spot on this list (it was horrible, please, don't try to defend it) -- but the 2012 version was incredible, and certainly among the best movies of the year.Yes, reading through and voting on this list might make you slightly irritated. Terrible movies do tend to have that affect on people. If you need a pick-me-up, check out this list of the best movies of all time.
