Using their list of the 100 most powerful celebrities, Forbes magazine ranks the 100 highest-paid celebrities in the world. While others may try, these celebs are both the most powerful and the highest paid for the year ending May 2011.
Also ranking as the richest and most-exposed on television and the radio for the year, TV host Oprah Winfrey reigned supreme as the highest-paid celebrity for the year. Miss Winfrey earned a whopping $290 million, which was nearly $100 million more than the second place earner, the rock band U2.
Though they didn't rank as high for other Forbes celebrity lists, like celebrities with the most online exposure, other top celebrities in terms of earnings included film producers Tyler Perry, who was third, and Jerry Bruckheimer, who was fifth. A second rock band, Bon Jovi, came in fourth with $125 million in earnings. As this list shows, even the last-place earner here raked in $7 million during the year. As that's a wage most of us would due to have, it certainly proves that the entertainment business is certainly a lucrative one.
