On August 7, 2019, actor Danny Trejo witnessed a car accident in Los Angeles that ended with one vehicle overturned and a child trapped inside. Trejo immediately jumped into action and attempted to crawl through a broken window in the car to free the child. He couldn't unhook the seatbelt from his position, and a bystander, Monica Jackson, stepped in to help. After both Jackson and Trejo rescued the boy, Trejo told a photographer, "The only thing that saved the little kid was his car seat."
Three people ended up in the hospital, but there were no life-threatening injuries. Trejo told CNN affiliate KABC, "Everything good that has happened to me has happened as a direct result of helping someone else."

It was only a matter of time before Ryan Gosling rose from the ranks of a mere mortal to those of a real-life superman. In August 2011, the Internet saw a video of Gosling breaking up fisticuffs in broad daylight in the middle of a Manhattan intersection.
The videographer, Valerie Herrera, said the fight was about a painting a fan stole from the artist. In the end, Gosling "dug into his wallet and took out a $20, gave it to the guy." To the thief, I think.
More importantly, it looks like pinch-rolled clamdiggers and nautical stripes are the official costume of the superhero. Toot toot, I'm on board.Source

While actress Kate Winslet and her children were staying on bazillionaire Sir Richard Branson's private island in 2012, a fire broke out at the 14 bedroom "Great House." As guests fled at around 4 AM, Winslet swept up Branson's 90 year-old mother, Eve, in her arms and helped carry her out to safety. Said Branson, "She said it's like being in a film set, where you're waiting for the words 'cut,' but they just don't come. So it was quite surreal for her to be in a real-life situation."
Said Winslet, "Richard Branson is a pretty good guy to have owe you a big favor."Source

In November 2011, "Doctor Who" / "Torchwood" actor John Barrowman became a hero almost as awesome as his character, Captain Jack Harkness. While in a hotel in Glasgow, Scotland, he heard a woman screaming for help as an intruder ransacked her room. Barrowman quickly went into action, instructing the concierge to chase the fleeing boy and block the staircases. After the assailant punched the concierge(!) and jumped into the staff elevator, Barrowman grabbed his ankles and dragged him to the ground, pulling him into the hallway. All in all, it was a very exciting incident.
But it didn't stop there. While waiting for the police, Barrowman noted that the robber was a young boy, maybe 14 or 15, and might be on drugs. Even though the kid was a little jerk, the actor wanted to help: He offered him a job working in a play he was doing that summer. Now that's a real hero.Source
