The 2000s were responsible for several incredibly funny black sitcoms that aired on a variety of networks. Although entirely black sitcoms have been on the air since the earliest days of network television, the genre rose to prominence in the '90s, paving the way for these hilarious TV shows. This list contains funny '00s black sitcoms and heartwarming African American sitcoms that the whole family can enjoy. 

Which shows appear on this list of the top '00s black sitcoms? Of course, The Bernie Mac Show made the cut for our best '00s black comedy shows list. The Bernie Mac Show was created by Larry Wilmore, and starred comedian Bernie Mac. It aired on Fox from 2001 – 2006.

Other great shows include Everybody Hates ChrisGirlfriends, and That's So Raven. My Wife and Kids was created by Don Reo and Damon Wayans, who also starred in the show.
