Let's face it, celebrities have a lot of free time. Sure, they have to act, sing, perform, or whatever it is their multi-million dollar contacts demand. But despite their crazy schedules, they sure do seem to have a lot of time to fight with each other. Stars are not like regular people: to truly reach the zenith of their celebrity powers, they have to beef. No, not the USDA-regulated kind. The celeb vs. celeb feud kind.

As you probably know, celebrity Twitter fights are not uncommon. Some celebrities have feuding down to a science, and they know how to dismantle their opponents like they’re dissecting a frog. Other artists just choose to put someone on blast and get as crazy with it as they can. There are no rules when it comes to famous fights, as proven by this list of the most cray cray celebrity feuds of 2016.

If you like celebrity feuds, 2016 is the year for you. Grown up rappers went off on 14-year-old Disney stars, EDM bros got into a major Twitter spat, and Beyonce made a lot of cops really mad. When it comes to celebrity fights in 2016, you’ll discover that it's tough to escape unscathed. Even staying silent can make you look bad. On this list of the craziest celebrity feuds of 2016, the only winner is you.

Which celebrity feuds totally took over your life in 2016?
Kanye West vs. Taylor Swift

When Kanye dropped Life of Pablo at the beginning of 2016, people were excited and then sort of disappointed. The tracks were just okay and the lyrics were... fine? "Real Friends" was good. Anyway, one of the offending lyrics on the album was about West's constant frenemy Taylor Swift.

In the song West raps, "I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex / I made that b***h famous." Yikes. When Swift said that they lyric was wildly misogynistic, West said that he ran the line by her and she approved. But Swift's representation said otherwise.

Months later, Mrs. West (AKA Kim Kardashian) posted a series of videos to Snapchat to defend her husband's use of the Swift line. Apparently, the Wests had taped Kanye's conversation with Taylor when he called to ask her if he could use the line. In the video, you can hear Swift thanking Kanye for being considerate enough to run the line by her. In fact, she seems downright cool with the whole thing.

Taylor called the release of the video "character assassination," and posted a response to Instagram. She said, "Where is the video of Kanye telling me he was going to call me 'that bitch' in his song? It doesn't exist because it never happened. You don't get to control someone's emotional response to being called 'that bitch' in front of the entire world."
Kesha vs. Dr. Luke

One of the saddest and most shocking feuds of 2016 was Kesha's ongoing beef with Dr. Luke. In 2016 the singer claimed that the reason that she'd failed to release any new music is because her contract was tied up with the producer Dr. Luke, and that she didn't want to work with him because of an alleged sexual assault. The producer took to Twitter to maintain his innocence:

Kesha responded with a song that she co wrote with fellow 2016 beef-haver Zedd
Azealia Banks vs. Skai Jackson

Moments after ending her feud with Zayn, sometimes-rapper, all-the-time-angry-tweeter Azealia Banks went after a 14-year-old Disney star. The girl had admonished the singer for her racist rant, saying, "Azealia Banks needs to simmer down a little." So of course Banks, an adult human, went on a crazy tirade against the teen. But it was all for not because the Disney star DESTROYED Banks and became a hero to us all.
Beyonce vs. The Police

In 2016 Beyonce went from being a pop star to becoming a movement - and a lightning rod for controversy. After the "Formation" video dropped, she performed at the Super Bowl in a faux Black Panther costume, which led Rudy Giuliani to say that Beyonce used her performance, "as a platform to attack police officers." This led to multiple police protests at Beyonce concerts. Showing that she was in control of the news cycle the entire time, Queen Bey dropped a brilliant visual album rather than a press release.
