The 2016 Golden Globe nominations have arrived! While the nominees start optimistically practicing their speeches, it’s time for the rest of us to predict the winners. That’s right, it’s time to answer the big question: Who should win the 2016 Golden Globe for Best TV Comedy or Musical? The 2016 Golden Globe nominees for best TV comedy were released on December 10, so out of the nominations, who do you think should win? These five nominees were selected by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association from the scores of amazing television comedies this past year. While Orange Is the New Black, Casual, Transparent, Silicon Valley, and Mozart in the Jungle were all noteworthy in their own right, only one TV comedy series can be in that little envelope.
Transparent is seen as a potential frontrunner by critics and oddsmakers alike. Jeffrey Tambor’s amazing performance and the sophisticated and hilarious writing have made the Amazon original a critical hit. Netflix's Orange Is the New Black, another favorite, is sure to give the comedy a run for their money and be one of the more popular picks. Casual and Mozart in the Jungle are also available exclusively online, making Silicon Valley the only Golden Globe nominee for a TV comedy that actually aired on television.
No category is without controversy. While many TV fans think Parks and Recreation, Veep, and Jane the Virgin were snubbed, these are the remaining five shows that now have the chance to take home the best TV comedy or musical Golden Globes 2016. Vote up the television shows you believe were golden, and vote down those you think shouldn’t even be let on the red carpet.
