The 2019 Oscar nominations for Best Actress have been announced, but there is still time to get your predictions in for the 91st Oscars. There were plenty of great female roles that have been nominated for the Best Actress Oscar this year. With so many great actresses giving phenomenal performances (and no Meryl "Has Too Many Oscars Anyway" Streep nomination) it's hard to choose who will ultimately take home the 2019 Best Actress Oscar.

Who are the 2019 Best Actress nominees? Lady Gaga is nominated for Best Actress this year for her work in A Star Is Born. Melissa McCarthy received a nod for Can You Ever Forgive Me. Award-winning actress Glenn Close got a nomination for Best Actress in 2019 for playing Joan Castleman in the film The Wife. Yalitza Aparicio for Roma and Olivia Colman for The Favourite also received Best Actress nominations this year. She also played various roles in That Mitchell and Webb Look, alongside her Peep Show co-stars David Mitchell and Robert Webb. Her move to drama saw her receive critical acclaim for her performance as Hannah in the 2011 film Tyrannosaur. Yalitza Aparicio Martínez is a Mexican actress who made her film debut as Cleo in Alfonso Cuarón's 2018 drama Roma, which earned her an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress. Aparicio was born December 11, 1993, in Heroica Ciudad de Tlaxiaco, Oaxaca. Her parents are of indigenous origin; her father is Mixtec and her mother is Triqui. She is not, however, fluent in the Mixtec language and had to learn it for the film.
