The 2019 Best Director Oscar nominations are in but that doesn't stop us from predicting who we think will take home the win. We're showcasing the best talents who directed the 2018 films that captured most of our hearts. Out of the nominated directors listed, who do you think will take home the Academy Award for Best Director in 2019?

Each year, Best Director Oscars are awarded to directors who created innovative, enriching, and unique films that captivate audiences and critics. Who are the Best Director nominees this year? Veteran filmmaker Spike Lee joins the contenders with his film, BlacKKKlansman, the biographical comedy-drama film based in Colorado Springs in the 1970s. Yorgos Lanthimos was also nominated for directing The Favourite. Adam McKay for Vice, Pawel Pawlikowski for Cold War, and Alfonso Cuaron for Roma also received Best Director nominations this year. You might notice that there were a few snubbed directors for the 91st Oscars as well, such as Lynne Ramsay for You Were Never Really Here. In fact, no women were nominated this year for the Best Director category. Bradley Cooper did not receive a nod from the Academy for his directorial debut,  A Star Is Born. Steve McQueen, who directed the film 12 Years A Slave, did not receive a Best Director nomination for his work on Widows, starring Viola Davis. With so many amazing 2019 Best Director nominees, it's hard to pin down who will walk away with the Oscar, but cast your votes below and check back to see who the Academy recognizes and who ultimately takes home the statue.
