He bumped up his shooting percentage from 50.8 percent to 54.9 percent, and possibly most impressive, he improved his free-throw percentage from 62.1 percent to 78.5 percent.
At the start of the 2018-19 season, players like Brandon Ingram, Myles Turner, Cedi Osman, and Jamal Murray were among the favorites to be named Most Improved Player. The award often goes to young, up-and-coming players setting new career highs and achieving record-breaking stats, the kind of seasons expected from players like Markelle Fultz, Julius Randle, and Elfrid Payton.
The three finalists for the 2018-19 Most Improved Player award were the winner Pascal Siakam, the Brooklyn Nets' D'Angelo Russell, and the Sacramento Kings' De'Aaron Fox.
