These were the best new Netflix originals premiering in 2020, yet another reason to love 2020. Some new Netflix originals in 2020 were expected (or hoped for) in 2019, but they finally found their way onto the premiere calendar. From a live-action remake of Avatar: The Last Airbender to the much-anticipated adaptation of the Locke & Key comic series by Joe Hill, Netflix has certainly been increasing their output of original series based on cult-favorite properties.
Netflix's 2020 schedule was packed with dramas, sci-fi, action, and comedies that were all great bait for awards; and they must know what they're doing as Netflix has been proving themselves at award shows like the Golden Globes and Emmys. But that doesn't mean they don't also make purely fun shows - Next In Fashion, hosted by Alexa Chung and Queer Eye's Tan France, will be a new competitive reality series for 2020.
