From famous portrayals to powerhouse roles, here are the talented actors considered for Best Actor at the 2021 Oscars. In a diverse collection of seasoned veterans and young up incoming stars, this year's potential nominees displayed lasting performances. 

From the dismal reality Anthony Hopkins depicts in The Father, to the historical portrayal of infamous screenwriter Herman J. Mankiewicz by Gary Oldman in Mank, these are the roles that add to a long list of legacy performances. While Chadwick Boseman's final film appearance in Ma Rainey's Black Bottom certainly cemented his acting legacy. Other strong contenders for the award include Steven Yeun in Minari and Riz Ahmed in Sound of Metal.
