22 Jump Street brings another installment of laughs in the sequel to 2012's 21 Jump Street. The action comedy film, based on the 1980s television series, was written by Michael Bacall, Oren Uziel and Rodney Rothman, and directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller. 22 Jump Street opened in theaters on June 13, 2014. In 22 Jump Street, former partners Schmidt (Jonah Hill) and Jenko (Channing Tatum) reunite to work again. On orders from Deputy Chief Hardy (Nick Offerman) and Capt. Dickson (Ice Cube), the pair go undercover once again, this time as college students. They enroll in classes, move into the dorms and start to fit in like a normal college co-ed all while trying to find out who is behind a new drug.
But as Jenko joins the football team and Schmidt begins to fit into the art major scene, they find themselves growing apart. This puts them at a crossroads. Can they finish this investigation and snuff out the drug dealers on campus without harming their friendship and partnership? 22 Jump Street will test just that.
Schmidt: "Hey" Jenko: "Heads up, buddy" Schmidt: "Heads up to you" Jenko: "What are you doing?!" Schmidt: "Sorry, I don't know why I did that." Jenko: "Who throws a gun?!"
Schmidt and Jenko reunite after spending some time apart from one another. Nervous, Schmidt throws his loaded gun at Jenko as an odd way of saying hello.
Jenko: "We're like a power couple." Schmidt: "We're like Rihanna and Chris Brown. You're a good dancer but sometimes you're meaner than I'd like you to be."
Jenko and Schmidt talk about their dysfunctional relationship. But like Rihanna and Chris Brown, could the two be leading to a split?
Schmidt: "Look at Dickson's office. It looks like a giant cube of ice." Capt. Dickson: "How you bitches like Jump Street now?" Schmidt: "Hey!" Capt. Dickson: "Somebody's cooking up a new drug." Jenko: "Wipe? wipey? Wipey?" Capt. Dickson: "No, you dumb motherf***er, WiFi" Schmidt: "Play on, player." Capt. Dickson: "Why every time you speak I want to throw the f*** up?"
Interestingly enough, the new office of Capt. Dickson, portrayed by Ice Cube, looks like a giant cube of ice! This observation is however one of the more intelligent things that comes out of Schmidt's mouth. Other things not so much.
