Although the black sitcom boom happened in the '90s, the 1980s had a ton of hilarious African American comedy shows as well. Black sitcoms have been around since the early days of network television, but shows like The Cosby Show and Diff'rent Strokes are arguably more famous than any other black sitcoms throughout TV history.
