This video shot by NASA's Curiosity rover shows something shocking on the ruddy-red surface of Mars.
A small sphere that looks uncannily like an ancient cannonball has turned up on the surface of the Red Planet, with no explanatory context.
UFO hunter Scott C. Waring actually thinks this is a cannonball projected from outside Mars' natural atmosphere shield, indicating that there must have once been a giant war that decimated Mars' population. NASA, however, claims it's a rock that became round through a mineral process involving internal water evaporation not unlike the reverse way of stones in the sea on earth becoming smooth through continuous movement.
Either way, Curiosity has captured a pretty cool video, putting all those government dollars (and our imaginations) to work.
