In "A Glimpse Inside the Mind of Charles Swan III," Charlie Sheen plays the title character of Charles Swan III, a graphic designer who is also kind of a scumbag, in the 1970s. Life is going well for Charles until the girl of his dreams, Ivana (Katheryn Winnick), dumps him. This causes Charles to completely flip out. On one hand, Charles is smitten with Ivana and desperately wants her back while on the other hand, he's also angry that she left him. This confusion and stress leads to a number of surreal dreams, nightmares even, involving his closets friends.
In one dream, Charles and his friend Kirby Star (Jason Schwartzman) find themselves in a Western alongside Charles' manager Saul (Bill Murray). In another they are gangsters on the run from some violent man-hating gang of women. All parallel his real life, causing Charles to hit bottom and reevaluate how he lives his life.
Ivana: "You're a big, fake liar!"
Saul: "You're incredibly irresponsible."
Kirby Star: "You don't listen!"
Ivana: "You're crazy! You're selfish!" … "You're not the only person, Charles!"
In selected scenes from the film, Charles problems are highlighted, specifically in that so many people are disappointed in him. As if losing the love of his life wasn't bad enough, it seems everything is falling on Charles all at once.
Charles Swan III: "I thought it was different with her, then poof! I can't concentrate. I think of her every minute."
Charles talks about Ivana leaving him and how the weight of the breakup is consuming him. This stress leads to his brain to go into overdrive and prompts numerous wacky dreams.
Kirby Star: "Hello, zing! Rewind! What did you do?"
Charles Swan III: "She said she didn't want to be in the drawer with all the other girls."
Kirby Star: "Well obviously I totally agree with that. I'm lost. I have no idea what we're talking about."
Trying to explain the breakup to his buddy Kirby Star does not go so well for Charles. At first Kirby seems to understand but soon it becomes obvious that he was not paying attention one bit.

In one of Charles' dreams he finds himself in a Western scene where he encounters a group of Native American women. They don't react kindly to his advances sending them running for the hills.

Charles spills his heart out in an attempt to vent about his breakup. He does this however to a small child who likely has no comprehension of adult relationships.
