While it is not a comprehensive list of all skirmishes, conflicts, or battles that took place in the Pacific War, we have tried to include as many military events and actions as possible. All the battles on this Pacific War list are currently listed alphabetically, but if you want to find a specific battle you can search for it by using the "search". Information about these Pacific War battles are included below as well, such as their specific locations and who was involved in the fight.

    Action of 17 July 1944

    The Action of 17 July 1944 was a submarine engagement of World War II. It resulted in the sinking of the Japanese Navy's Kadai class submarine I-166 in the Strait of Malacca by the British Royal Navy submarine Telemachus. Operating for the first time with the Eastern Fleet at Colombo in Ceylon, Commander Bill King on 13 July had put himself in a position known as One Fathom bank in order to intercept Japanese traffic between Penang and Singapore. They waited until the 17th when submerged, the ASDIC operator alerted King to the sound of propellers, and the watch soon spotted a Japanese submarine; that being I-166.... more on Wikipedia

    The Action of 24 July 1945 was one of the final naval battles during the Pacific Theater of World War II. In an attempt to destroy as many allied ships as possible, the Imperial Japanese Navy began arming their submarine fleet with manned torpedos called kaitens.     The Action of 5 July 1942 was a naval engagement fought during the Aleutian Islands Campaign of World War II. During the action, the American submarine USS Growler attacked three Japanese warships anchored off Kiska island.
