Pixar movies are jam-packed with recognizable Easter Eggs. While the Pizza Planet truck makes an appearance in nearly every Pixar movie, the A113 Easter Egg is an equally looked-for cameo that appears in every one of these animated films.
Rather than simply being a fun addition to Pixar films, A113 actually has a sweet meaning behind it: it refers to the classroom at the California Institution of Arts where many Pixar filmmakers first learned about animation. When these filmmakers graduated and went on to create some of the most-loved children's films in existence, they wanted to pay homage to their roots by hiding A113 in each and every film. Now, the classroom number has taken on a life of its own. Dedicated fans search for A113 in every film and each new discovery feels like a high-five-worthy accomplishment.
If you have yet to discover A113 for yourself, don't worry, we've done it for you.
The airport announcer also references “LassetAir Flight A113" when the toys arrive at the airport to save Woody.
The column reads "A13." While not a perfect A113 reference, most fans assume it was included on purpose to subtly point to the animation classroom.
