Ada Cornaro

Ada Cornaro (29 June 1881 – 19 March 1961) was a prominent Argentine film and theatre actress, tango dancer and singer of the 1930s and 1940s.
Although she entered film in 1924 her claim to fame was in the 1930 tango film hit Adiós Argentina in which she starred alongside icon Libertad Lamarque.
She appeared in tango films such as Alas de mi patria (1939), Academia El Tango Argentino and Así te quiero (1942) and Apasionadamente (1944).
She retired from film in 1951 after her last film "Volver a la vida".  She died in Buenos Aires.

Ada Falcon

Ada Falcón (17 August 1905 – 4 January 2002) was an Argentine tango dancer, singer and film actress of the 1920s and 1930s. She starred in the film Ídolos de la radio in 1934. She was famous for her tango work and made over 200 recordings in the 1920s and 1930s. She shared a long relationship with orchestra leader  Francisco Canaro. She mysteriously disappeared from the limelight in 1942 and lived as a recluse until she died in 2002 at age 96.

Alberto Closas

Alberto Closas Lluró (30 October 1921 in Barcelona – 19 September 1994 in Madrid) was a prolific Spanish  film actor who appeared in the Cinema of Argentina in the 1940s and 1950s and in Spanish cinema after 1955.
His family emigrated to Argentina in 1936 during the Spanish Civil War where in 1942 he acted in his first film Nada más que amor. He made over 90 film and television appearances and he continued to appear on Spanish television until his death in September 1994 from lung cancer.
He was married to Argentine actress Amelia Bence between 1950 and 1955.

Alberto de Mendoza

Alberto Manuel Rodríguez-Gallego González de Mendoza (21 January 1923 – 12 December 2011) was an Argentine film actor who appeared in some 114 films between 1930 and 2005, spanning eight decades.A lifelong figure in Argentine films, De Mendoza appeared in film such as Adán y la serpiente in 1946 and A hierro muere in 1962 often working alongside Olga Zubarry. In the late 1960s and 1970 he appeared in a number of spaghetti Westerns. and also had a prominent role in the 1973 horror classic Horror Express, in which he co-starred alongside Christopher Lee, Peter Cushing and Telly Savalas.
De Mendoza is better known to audiences in Argentina for his role in the popular TV series El Rafa, aired from 1980 to 1982, or the less successful El Oriental, aired from 1982 to 1983. He died in Madrid on 12 December 2011, at age 88.

Aldo Barbero (1938 – 27 October 2013) was an Argentine actor who made over 65 appearances in film and TV in Argentine since the early 1960s.
In 1971 he appeared in the musical Balada para un mochilero directed by Carlos Rinaldi which starred Jose Marrone.

Alfredo Alcón

Alfredo Félix Alcón (Spanish pronunciation: [alˈfɾeðo alˈkon]; 3 March 1930 – 11 April 2014) was an Argentine theatre and film actor born in Buenos Aires. Widely regarded as one of the best and most important Argentine actors of the 20th century. He worked in more than 50 movies since his first one, El amor nunca muere (Love Never Dies), in 1955, and received many recognitions for his work: among others, the Silver Condor, the Martin Fierro Award and the 1981 Diamond Konex Award.He died on April 11, 2014 at the age of 84.

Alfredo Casero

Alfredo Casero (born November 12, 1962 in Vicente López, Buenos Aires Province) is an Argentine musician, actor and comedian.
Casero began studying acting with Norman Briski in 1987. Soon after he started working in the underground humour scene of Buenos Aires. In 1992 he created, along with other humorists, the delirious comic show De la cabeza ("Out of our minds"), which later continued as Cha Cha Cha in 1995. In parallel with the TV show he started working in his musical project, and also in a radio show.
The cancellation of Cha Cha Cha in 1997 marks the end of an era of famous characters, such as Manhattan Ruiz, Minister of Postal Economy. Delicatessen, Todo x 2 pesos and Peter Capusotto y sus videos were shows that took much of the former Cha Cha Cha and De la Cabeza, including many actors.
He became better known outside of his country in 2002 when he recorded a Japanese song, Shima Uta, entirely in Japanese.  It was the first single from his album, Casaerius. The song became a huge hit in Argentina, where it was chosen as the anthem for the national football team to represent the country at the 2002 FIFA World Cup, in South Korea and Japan.
In 2004 Casero played the character 'Roque Rizzutti' in the Argentinian soap Locas de amor.
He was featured, along with Japanese rock band The Boom (authors of Shima Uta) and Japanese-Argentine folk singer Claudia Oshiro on the Japanese New Year's Eve television show, Kōhaku Uta Gassen, in its 53rd edition (New Year's Eve, December 2002).
Since then he's been devoted to the "Casero Experimendo", an experiment of blogging/humour and theater presentations, all made around improvisation.

Alicia Bruzzo

Alicia Liliana Estela Bruzzo (29 September 1945 – 13 February 2007), known as Alicia Bruzzo, was an Argentine actress, born in Buenos Aires to a family of artists. Starting in 1972, she worked in 17 films. She was renowned for her work in television and theater; among her most memorable roles were in Una sombra ya pronto serás (A Shadow, You Shall Soon Be, 1994) and as that of a lonely heart in De mi barrio con amor (From My Neighborhood, with Love, 1995), both opposite Luis Brandoni. She won Martín Fierro Awards in 1990 and 1992, and Estrella de Mar Awards in 2003 and 2005.Bruzzo was diagnosed with lung cancer, and died in Buenos Aires in 2007, at the age of 61.

Amelia Bence

Amelia Bence (born María Amelia Batvinik; 13 November 1914 – 8 February 2016) was an Argentine film actress and one of the divas of the Golden Age of Argentine Cinema (1940–60).
Born to Belarusian Jewish immigrants, Bence began her career at a young age, studying with Alfonsina Storni at the Lavardén Children's Theater and with Mecha Quintana at the Conservatorio Nacional de Música y Declamación (National Conservatory of Music and Speech). She made her film debut in 1933, in only the second sound film of Argentina, Dancing, by Luis Moglia Barth. Bence's acting in La guerra gaucha (1942), one of the most important films in the history of Argentine cinema, gave her recognition and earned her leading role offers. She starred in films such as Los ojos más lindos del mundo (1943), Todo un hombre, Camino del infierno (1946), A sangre fría (1947), La otra y yo (1949) and  Danza del fuego (1949), garnering the Best Actress award from the Argentine Academy of Cinematography Arts and Sciences for Todo un hombre, A sangre fría and Danza del fuego. Bence also won the Silver Condor Award for Best Actress for Lauracha (1946), and her work was acknowledged with awards in Spain, Cuba, and the US throughout the 1940s and 1950s.
Bence married Spanish actor Alberto Closas in 1950, and after their divorce was in a relationship with Osvaldo Cattone in the 1960s. Between 1952 and 1954, Bence was contracted by Reforma Films to film two movies in Mexico and earned high praise for her starring role in Alfonsina (1957), which was selected as the Argentine entry for the Berlin International Film Festival and won her an award from the Argentina Film Academy. She developed an extensive theater career in the 1960s, starring in works like "La dama del trébol", "Así es la vida", "Maribel y la extraña familia" and "El proceso de Mary Duggan". From 1973 to 1976, she completed a long tour of Latin America and featured in "La valija" ("The Suitcase") at the Gramercy Arts Theater in New York City, which earned her an Association of Latin Entertainment Critics (ACE) Award for Best Foreign Actress. Bence's characterizations in "Doña Rosita, la soltera" (1975) and "La loba" (1982) in the United States and Peru were very successful. During the last stage of her career, she acted in several television productions, including series such as Romina, Bianca and Las 24 horas. In 1989, she received the Silver Condor for Lifetime Achievement Award, and later won awards in the same category at the Podesta Awards in 1992 and by the National Endowment for the Arts in 1997. Between 1996 and 2010, she appeared in several theaters with her show "Alfonsina", which combined music and poetry. After a career spanning eight decades in entertainment, she retired in 2010.

Ana Arneodo

Ana Arneodo (1898 – 1977) was an Argentine actress of the 1940s and 1950s.
Arneodo made her appearance in film in 1939 and made some 24 appearances between then and 1958,  appearing in films such as the 1942 film Adolescencia alongside Pola Alonso and Al marido hay que seguirlo (1948). She regularly worked under the films of director Francisco Múgica.
She retired in 1958.

Ana Casares

Ana Casares (1930 in Stanisławów, Poland – March 13, 2007 in Buenos Aires) was a Polish-Argentine film actress. She starred in 30 films between 1951 and 1980.
In 1933 with her parents moved to Argentina. She studied acting skills at Heddy Krill. Since 1952 - on the stage. Since 1951, in the Argentine cinema. Roman made her debut in 1951 in the Juan Carlos Thorry film El Complejo de Felipe and in 1962 appeared in Buscando a Mónica. Since 1962, filmed in Europe, mainly in Spain. Played at theaters in Madrid. At the beginning of the 1970s, she returned to Buenos Aires, where she continued her acting career. After 1980 she left the cinema and theatre. Ana Casares was called the Argentine "Brigitte Bardot".
She died aged 77 and is buried in the cemetery of La Tablada in Buenos Aires.

Analía Gadé

Analía Gadé (28 October 1931 – 18 May 2019) was an Argentine film actress. She appeared in more than 60 films between 1948 and 2001. She appeared in the film Emergency Ward which was entered into the 1953 Cannes Film Festival. She was born in Córdoba, Argentina, and was the sister of Carlos Gorostiza. Three years after being diagnosed with cancer, she died on 18 May 2019, at the age of 87.

She is noted for her romantic drama roles.Galante made her debut in the TV series "Amigovios" in 1995 playing the character of María Sol. She has since made appearances in TV series such as El Deseo in 2004 and in the films Chiche bombón (2004) which was her film debut playing the role of a failed pregnant actress, Esas noches de insomnio  (2005),Aminga, de un pueblo à la ciudad (2007) and Cuando ella saltó (2007) opposite Argentine model and actor Iván de Pineda.
She is due to star alongside Iván de Pineda again in the film Paco.
