12 Times Actors Made Fun Of Their Own Movies

In 2005, Halle Berry did something entirely unexpected: She accepted her worst actress award at the Razzies (Golden Raspberry Awards). The Razzies are the anti-Oscars, where the worst of cinema is celebrated. Most of the nominees do not attend, as they hate the concept with a passion, but Berry hilariously accepted her statuette for Catwoman with a fawning, seven-minute speech. Part of the speech is embedded in the photo, but here are a few other snippets:

First of all, I want to thank Warner Bros. Thank you for putting me in a piece of s**t, god-awful movie. It was just what my career needed. I was at the top, and then Catwoman plummeted me to the bottom.

...I want to thank the cast. In order to give a really bad performance like I did, you need a lot of bad actors around you.

Batman & Robin has gone down in history as one of the worst films of all time.

Batman himself, George Clooney, has no qualms about mocking his worst flick. He'll even do it in the most public places.

I Know Who Killed Me has a 9% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Its star, Lindsay Lohan, ostensibly agrees with that score, as she responded with pity to a fan who had watched the film twice. 

Sly provided this response in a 2006 online Q&A. To hammer the film's horribleness home, Stallone added a facetious factoid:

In some countries - China, I believe - running Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot once a week on government television has lowered the birthrate to zero. If they ran it twice a week, I believe in 20 years, China would be extinct.

Pattinson gave this reply after being asked, "Why are you guys [the Twilight superhumans] still driving cars when you have the ability to run so fast?"

As an addendum to that response, he laughed and said, "They're a hundred years old."

On St. Patrick's Day 2021, the man who played Green Lantern finally watched Green Lantern. With the help of Aviation Gin, he live-tweeted the critically panned movie and came up with several gems, one of which was comparing GL's CG suit to the 8-bit video game Frogger.

He also threw a jab at Peter Sarsgaard's villain character, Hector Hammond, calling his meticulously crafted CG head an "over-inflated beach ball."
