List Rules Vote up the greatest of all of Adam Sandler's characters from his time on Saturday Night Live.

Comedy legend Adam Sandler began his career at Saturday Night Live in 1990 as a writer for one season, before being added as a featured player the next year. It took him a while to find his voice, but by the height of his SNL career he was creating some of the most hilarious and memorable characters to ever grace the stage at Studio 8H. That's not to say there weren't some clunkers - looking at you, "Sleepyhead" - but he certainly had a knack for creating dumb, simple characters that got laughs.

What would the history of SNL be without the likes of Opera Man, Canteen Boy, or The Gap Girls? Here are the all original Adam Sandler SNL characters that he brought to the show over his six-year tenure, ranked from best to worst.

Long before Jimmy Fallon was slow-jamming the news, Adam Sandler was operatically singing the news on "Weekend Update." One of his most memorable characters from Saturday Night Live, Opera Man showed Sandler really hitting his stride as a comedian.

The Gap Girls was a recurring sketch played by Adam Sandler, Chris Farley, and David Spade, and it became an instant SNL classic. It saw the three men dressed as sassy, gossiping, female retail workers eating french fries in the mall food court. And who could forget that it brought upon one of Farley's most memorable quotes, "LAY OFF ME I'M STARVING!"

Hank Gelfand was the exhausted husband of Beverley (Chris Farley) who flipped through the Zagat Guide to find a place to eat. Hank, who would rather be doing anything else, would say things like, "Take me God, I am ready to meet you!" and hold a toy gun to Bev's head as she bellowed about restaurant options.

Brian is listed (or ranked) 4 on the list All of Adam Sandler's SNL Characters, Ranked

Sandler laid the groundwork for his role as the sad-sack boyfriend in romantic comedies with Brian, the lamenting host of "The Denise Show." The entire show is about Brian dwelling on his failed relationship with Denise, complete with Denise trivia segments and Denise-centric interviews with his friends.
