We've all heard of certain kinds of tequila that have a worm in them, and some of us have probably wrinkled our noses in disgust. Well, would you believe that this tequila is really on the mild end of things? Around the world, people have made alcohol out of some really fascinating, and often horrifying, things. Some of these strange substances are enough to make your stomach turn, and not just from the alcohol content.

Sometimes there's a reason to drink alcohol made of weird things - maybe it's part of your religion, or culture, or it's considered to be medicinal. Still, with some of these options, a trip to the doctor is probably a safer bet.

So join us on this strange and distressing journey through the wide world of weird alcohols. We just hope you have a strong stomach, because by the time we're done, you'll wish you'd just stuck with drinking the worm.

Ok, after this, you might decide that you've had enough Internet for one day. This Korean drink is made by fermenting the feces of human children. Why children? It has something to do with it being more pure if it comes from them. Why would you even do this in the first place? Your guess is as good as ours.

You can't buy this stuff (yet), but there is in fact some guy out there currently making whiskey out of the fermented urine of elderly diabetic patients. Why would you want to do this? Apparently it has something to do with harvesting biological resources, or maybe with just being really, really bored.

This one was originally made by the Eskimos, and it's kind of horrifying. The wine is simple to make: you just get a dead seagull, put it in a bottle, and then let it ferment in the sunlight. That's it. Needless to say, you can't find this in any stores.

Unfortunately, this is just as grisly as it sounds. The wine is made from rice and live baby mice that are no more than three days old. The mice are drowned in the wine, then left to ferment for a year or more. Some people say it tastes likes gasoline

The "Sourtoe" Cocktail, Made with a Mummified Toe

Dawson City, Canada, has a little bar entirely devoted to a single cocktail, called The Sourtoe Cocktail. Why is it called that? Because the cocktail is served with a mummified human toe right in the glass. There's only one rule if you want to drink it: "You can drink it fast, you can drink it slow - but the lips have gotta touch the toe."

Also called tezhi sanbian jiu, this is a wine-like drink actually made with the penises of three different animals: seal, deer, and dog. This Chinese rice wine supposedly has medicinal properties that help with (big surprise here) male virility.
