The multi-talented artist-to-the-stars is actually pretty deep, and definitely very cool.
She Has Been Sober For 10 Years
Kat Von D struggled with addiction in her life, but in July 2017 she celebrated 10 years of sobriety. Regarding to her former boyfriend, Jessie James, Kat mentioned her addiction and emphasized that everyone makes mistakes. “I am a believer that we’re all human and we’re all capable of making mistakes,” she said.
“I think if I were to be crucified for my drug addiction three years ago now, it would be hard to live with that. I’m sober now, and it’s awesome. But I have made mistakes, too. I’ve got a lot of respect for Jesse and how he handled it.”
She also mentioned that she gave up drinking when she realized that it was interfering with her ability to be a tattoo artist.
She Is A Classically Trained Pianist
While Kat may look pretty punk rock, she absolutely loves classical music and has been playing classic piano since the age of six. She Hates The Kardashians
Despite becoming a household name through her reality TV shows Miami Ink and LA Ink, Kat Von D is not the biggest fans when it comes to the other queens of reality TV: the Kardashians. Kat told Fashion magazine:
“I think those girls are beautiful in their own right, but I think what they represent and the message they [portray] to people is really so awful... Teaching people that money, status, fame, who you’re f*cking and all that stuff is important, I think it’s awful. I don’t back that sh*t at all. When I look at a lot of their products and the things they put out into the world, I don’t see that quality that’s profound and speaks to my heart. I just see dollar signs."
