Christie

Christie is a player character in the Dead or Alive fighting game series by Team Ninja and Tecmo. Since her official introduction in Dead or Alive 3 in 2001, she is the femme fatale of the series and one of its only true female villains along with some clones of Kasumi. Christie is a cold-blooded and sadistic British assassin that was hired by Victor Donovan to kill Helena Douglas and was responsible for the death of Helena's mother, Maria.

Hitomi is a player character in the Dead or Alive fighting game series by Team Ninja and Koei Tecmo). She was introduced in Dead or Alive 3 in 2001, replacing Ein/Hayate as the regular karate martial artist in the character roster. Hitomi is a half-Japanese German girl who has been practicing the art of karate since she was a child and enters the Dead or Alive Tournaments either to test her skills against other martial artists or to see Hayate. The character was well received by game critics for her sex appeal and personality.

Kasumi

Kasumi is a player character and the prime protagonist of the Dead or Alive fighting game series by Team Ninja and Tecmo. Kasumi has served as the lead character of the Dead or Alive franchise since its premiere in 1996; she was the official protagonist in the first two games in the series. She is also a main character in the film DOA: Dead or Alive in which she was portrayed by Devon Aoki.
In the games' canon, Kasumi, also known as "the Kunoichi of Destiny", is a teenage female ninja skilled in the Tenjin Mon style of Mugen Tenshin ninjutsu. In the games' storyline, Kasumi leaves her clan and becomes an outcast, pursued by her younger half-sister Ayane. There are several Dead or Alive player and boss characters who are clones of her.
Kasumi has become a symbol of the Dead or Alive franchise and is the personal favourite of Team Ninja's founder and the series' creator Tomonobu Itagaki. She has been the subject of various merchandise and was used to promote the Xbox consoles in Japan. Kasumi is a popular sex symbol in video game culture and an iconic ninja character.

Tina Armstrong is a player character in the Dead or Alive fighting game series by Team Ninja and Tecmo. She was introduced in the original Dead or Alive in 1996 as an American wrestling star who dreams of even greater fame. In her subsequent entries into the Dead or Alive tournament, she changes interests, from wanting to be a model to wanting to become an actress and a rock star and finally a politician; these actions greatly disappoint her overprotective father, Bass, who only wants one goal for her. Tina has become known as one of the most iconic and attractive video game blondes.

Ayane is a video game character in the Dead or Alive and Ninja Gaiden series by Team Ninja and Koei Tecmo. She debuted as a hidden character in the PlayStation version of the fighting game Dead or Alive in 1998, and has appeared in all of its sequels and spin-offs so far, including an appearance as the protagonist of Dead or Alive 3. In the games, Ayane is a teenage master of ninjutsu and is characterised by her complex relationship with her half-sister Kasumi, the lead character of the Dead or Alive series.
Ayane is also prominently featured as a recurring supporting character in the Ninja Gaiden series since its revival in 2004 and has made multiple guest appearances in other games, especially in the extended Dynasty Warriors franchise. She is one of the most popular Tecmo characters and is one of Koei Tecmo's mascots, but has been a subject of controversies regarding her age and sexualization.

Ryu Hayabusa is the protagonist of the Ninja Gaiden video game series as well as a player character in the Dead or Alive series by Team Ninja and Tecmo. According to the game canon, Ryu Hayabusa is a ninja and the leader of the Hayabusa Clan. The clan is said to have spiritual, physical and magical ties to ancient dragons. He is arguably the most popular ninja character to ever be featured in video games.

Ayame is a player character in the Tenchu series of stealth games. Introduced in Acquire's Tenchu: Stealth Assassins in 1998, Ayame is a young prodigy assassin in a historical fantasy version of the 15th century Japan, who has been adopted by a ninja master and raised along with her partner Rikimaru to serve a local clan's lord. She is one of the lead characters in all subsequent installments of Tenchu except of Tenchu Z and has been well received by gaming mass media, often perceived as one of the top assassins and best female ninja characters in video games.
