At the urging of Petyr Baelish, Lysa poisons her husband, Jon Arryn, Hand of the King to Robert Baratheon, and tells her sister Catelyn Stark that she suspects the Lannisters murdered him. Lysa marries Petyr, but when she attacks her niece Sansa Stark in a fit of jealousy and attempts to push her through the Moon Door to her death, Petyr intervenes and pushes Lysa through the door instead. Sansa and Petyr then cover up the murder as a suicide.
Edmure Tully is the son of Hoster Tully and Minisa Whent, brother of Catelyn and Lysa. He appears in the ASong of Ice and Fire book series and is played by Tobias Menzies on the HBO show Game of Thrones.
Edmure marries the daughter of Lord Walder Frey in an attempt to mend fences after Robb Stark broke a vow to marry one of the Frey girls.
