Expressionless anime characters may not be as flashy as their more enthusiastic friends and foes, but they are far from dull. Often the <a href="http://www.ranker.com/list/favorite-and-_34_dere-and-_34_-type/method2madness">kuudere</a> or dandere type, these guys and gals are low energy to the max, rarely wearing their emotions on their sleeves and usually being the bluntest member of their group. This character type can range from comically cool, like Sakamoto from Haven't You Heard? I'm Sakamoto, to tragically indifferent like Neon Genesis Evangelion's Rei Ayanami.Most of the time, expressing feelings for these characters is either difficult or simply wasted energy, which makes any emotional moment from them that much more powerful and significant. For some fans, part of the appeal of anime is thinking about which characters would be relationship material if they were real. Some anime characters&nbsp;seem like they'd make terrible significant others, though. This is distinct from celibacy, which is a conscious decision to abstain from sex, despite the presence of sexual attraction. Asexuals can, and often&nbsp;do&nbsp;have sex. Sometimes, it's for procreation. Sometimes, it's for the same reason that people who aren't really into hiking will hit the trail with their significant other –&nbsp;they want to make the other person happy and participate in activities they enjoy. They can have romantic&nbsp;relationships –&nbsp;though <a href="https://asexualagenda.wordpress.com/2013/02/16/talking-about-asexuality-in-japanese/" target="_blank">in Japan</a>, the term &quot;asexual&quot; tends to refer to people who are both asexual&nbsp;and&nbsp;aromantic, while the term &quot;nonsexual&quot; means people who have relationships without sex.This list focuses on anime characters who are&nbsp;probably&nbsp;asexual, based on their behavior, their words, or what their creators have said about them.&nbsp;Because of said rarity,&nbsp;much of this is up for interpretation.The characters on this list exhibit a distinct lack of interest in sexual activity, but what that means about the character's sexuality isn't always clear - it's difficult to find confirmed asexual anime characters. Obito&nbsp;Uchiha&nbsp;of&nbsp;Naruto&nbsp;may have done some atrocious things, but he also endured immense suffering.&nbsp;His ancestor Madara used to manipulate him into believing that humanity should be destroyed. Revy from Black Lagoon&nbsp;became a mercenary after an encounter with the police taught her that the only person who was going to protect her was herself. Even&nbsp;Cells At Work&nbsp;uses this trope by making viewers cry their eyes out over the backstory of a cancer cell.&nbsp;

Fallen hero anime characters can be some of the most fascinating characters the anime world has to offer. They offer a glimpse into what creates a villain, and how the human psyche processes trauma. Be warned - some of these stories are pretty brutal.

There are some anime characters who are just straight-up impossible to eliminate. You can chop off their heads, jab them in the heart, or pump them full of toxins, and they just won&#39;t perish. Often, this is because they&#39;re immortal. Maybe they drank an elixir like the immortals did in Baccano! or were merely born indestructible,&nbsp;such as&nbsp;Kei Nagai of Ajin, but no matter what the reason is, loss of life is off the table for these characters.&nbsp;

Not <a class="edS-cl" href="https://www.ranker.com/crowdranked-list/my-top-10-favorite-anime-characters?ref=internalCrossLinking_keyword">all anime characters</a> you can&#39;t kill are immortal - while the vast majority are, there are a few like Saitama of One-Punch Man, who are so powerful that the idea of someone taking their life seems impossible.&nbsp;

In some cases, the inability to perish is a blessing, but more often than not, it&#39;s a curse. Alucard of Hellsing is&nbsp;happy about his infinite lifespan - all the more time to exercise his bloodlust - but Joseph of <a class="edS-cl" href="https://www.ranker.com/list/why-you-should-watch-ancient-magus-bride/anna-lindwasser?ref=internalCrossLinking_keyword">The Ancient Magus</a>&#39;&nbsp;Bride is so desperate to expire&nbsp;that he&#39;s&nbsp;turned to human experimentation to make it happen.

Whatever the situation, these unkillable characters are often part of fascinating stories that question the true value of eternal life and invulnerability.&nbsp;

Few anime characters display the same personality traits at all times, but not all of them change drastically. In some cases though, the change can be pretty stark. One type of character whose personality does a complete 180 are chilled out, nice anime characters who get serious when they have to deal with conflict.&nbsp;

One example of this trope is Hatake Kakashi of Naruto,&nbsp;who is normally a laid back dude who goes totally serious&nbsp;when fighting against enemy ninja. There&#39;s also Rimuru Tempest of&nbsp;That Time I Got <a class="edS-cl" href="https://www.ranker.com/list/best-that-time-i-got-reincarnated-as-a-slime-quotes/ranker-anime?ref=internalCrossLinking_keyword">Reincarnated As A Slime</a>,&nbsp;who faces everyone and everything with a smile until he&#39;s actually staring down somebody who means him harm. Nezuko Kamado&nbsp;of&nbsp;Demon Slayer&nbsp;might be the cutest thing ever, but if you touch Tanjiro&nbsp;she&#39;s a force to be reckoned with.

Kakashi Hatake

Kakashi Hatake is a fictional character in the Naruto manga and anime series created by Masashi Kishimoto. Kishimoto originally planned to introduce Kakashi in the manga to the series' titular character, Naruto Uzumaki, early on, but pushed back this meeting so that Naruto's teammates could be better developed.
In the story, Kakashi is the leader and teacher of Team 7, consisting of the series' primary characters, Sasuke Uchiha, Sakura Haruno, and Naruto Uzumaki. He is initially portrayed as a detached and apathetic figure, but as the series progresses, his loyalty to his friends and students becomes increasingly apparent. Kakashi's past has been extensively explored in the series, resulting in a gaiden being devoted to his past experiences. Kakashi has appeared in several pieces of Naruto media, including six of the nine featured films in the series, all of the original video animations, and all of the video games.
Numerous anime and manga publications have praised and criticized Kakashi's character. Although he has been noted to be an echo of similar detached shōnen manga characters, the duality of Kakashi's apathetic and serious sides have been praised.

Itachi Uchiha is a fictional character in the Naruto manga and anime series created by Masashi Kishimoto. Itachi is the older brother of Sasuke Uchiha and is responsible for killing all the members of their clan, sparing only Sasuke. Though treated as an antagonist for much of the series, it is later revealed that Itachi slaughtered his clan in order to prevent a coup d'état which would result in a war, and that he had been acting in both Konoha's and Sasuke's best interests for the entire series.
Itachi has been featured in the Naruto films, has appeared once in an original video animation of Naruto, and is a playable character in most of the video games from the series. Itachi's character has been popular with readers of the manga, and has been positively received by critics. His appearance as an antagonist has been praised by several writers, although some have considered his initial appearance to be unsurprising. The gradual revelations of his past and its impact on the story has also received positive reception, and his fights were noted to be "one of the best" in the series.

Prince Zuko is a fictional character in Nickelodeon's animated television series Avatar: The Last Airbender. The character is voiced by Dante Basco and is portrayed by Dev Patel in M. Night Shyamalan's 2010 film The Last Airbender.
Zuko is the Crown Prince of the Fire Nation and an incredibly powerful Firebender, meaning he has the elemental ability to create and control fire and to redirect lightning through martial arts techniques. Kyo Sohma is a character in the manga and anime series Fruits Basket by Natsuki Takaya. He transforms into an orange cat whenever he is hugged by a person of the opposite gender or when his body comes under a great deal of stress. Also, this could be and probably is why he and Yuki do not get along very well. As part of his curse, Kyo transforms into a "monster", resembling a reptilian creature, whenever his Juzu beads bracelet are taken off.
Kyo is usually short-tempered, impulsive, and rude, but that is only one side to this complex character. He doesn't like to show his feelings and is very protective of those he cares for. He is also sometimes called "Kyon Kyon" He also appears to have a strong dislike for leeks, the smell and taste make him feel sick.

Sasuke Uchiha

Sasuke Uchiha is a fictional character from the Naruto manga and anime series created by Masashi Kishimoto. Sasuke is one of the several surviving members of the Uchiha clan, an infamous and powerful extended family of ninjas who were allied to the village of Konohagakure, before being massacred by Sasuke's older brother, Itachi Uchiha, before the series' start. At the series' beginning, Sasuke's entire purpose for living is to avenge the destruction of his clan by killing his brother, causing him to become cold and uncaring towards human connection. As the series progresses, Sasuke becomes more empathetic towards his teammates, notably Naruto Uzumaki, whom he comes to consider a rival. Sasuke has appeared in several of the series' featured movies, as well as other media, including several video games and OVAs.
Sasuke was conceived as a rival and foil to the series' titular character, Naruto Uzumaki. Sasuke's design caused difficulties for Kishimoto as he drew the manga scenes, but he has grown to enjoy drawing him. In the animated adaptations from the manga Sasuke has been voiced by Noriaki Sugiyama in Japanese and Yuri Lowenthal in the English dub.
