13 Anime Characters Who Could Probably Beat Saitama

As a parody character who can defeat anybody with a single punch, Saitama of One Punch Man is one of the strongest characters in the anime universe. But is he really impossible to defeat? Maybe not.  Actually, there are a lot of anime characters who could beat Saitama.

It's possible that the only anime character who can defeat Saitama is another superpowered parody character like Arale Norimaki of Dr. Slump or Saiki Kusuo of The Disastrous Life of Saiki K. There are also characters who straight up would not engage in a physical fight, but would challenge Saitama to competitions he would lose - Saitama's definitely not going to beat Yukihira Soma of Food Wars in a cook-off. But some characters are actually just straight up powerful enough to beat him in combat - what is he going to do against Baraggan Louisenbairn's Senescencia in Bleach? Not much.

Which of these characters do you think stand a chance against Caped Baldy? Vote up the ones you think would be victorious, and vote down the ones you think would get serious punched into the dirt.

    Zeno - 'Dragon Ball Super'

Saitama might be powerful, but he doesn't stand a chance against Zeno, the supreme ruler of the Multiverse. Zeno can erase whole universes from existence with a single thought. All he'd have to do to is erase the universe he's in - or if he didn't want to go that hard, he could just erase Saitama himself.

If for some reason this wasn't enough, there's also the fact that Zeno is totally immortal and totally invulnerable, and the fact that he can copy other people's abilities. If he actually wanted to fight Saitama in order to defeat him, he could just copy his punching prowess and use it against him.

    Ryuk - 'Death Note'

If anybody can take down Saitama, it's Ryuk, a Shinigami who can eliminate anybody by writing their name down in a supernatural notebook.

Why Ryuk instead of protagonist Light Yagami? There are two reasons. The first is that if Light actually had to square up against Saitama, he wouldn't last long enough to write his name down. Ryuk is an immortal Shinigami who can't be defeated through combat.

The second is that Saitama doesn't have a publicly available full name - we don't even know if Saitama is his surname or his given name. Light would have to do a lot of digging to figure that out, whereas Ryuk can just flash his Shinigami eyes and write down whatever name is hovering over Saitama's head.

Yu Kaito - 'Yu Yu Hakusho'

Kaito isn't the strongest or most memorable character from Yu Yu Hakusho, but he's one of the few who'd stand a chance against Saitama. Kaito can create spaces called 'territories' in which reality is just slightly warped.

In his territory, if a person says a forbidden word, their soul will be removed from their body. This happens whether you say the word itself, or just make the sounds in question. Meaning, if the forbidden word is "pen" it doesn't matter if you said "independent' you still lose your soul. With his genius IQ, Kaito is extremely good at avoiding the forbidden word no matter how complicated the rule might be - as well as manipulating the other person into saying it. Saitama might be immune to the manipulation part, but he's not immune to making mistakes on his own.

What's more, physical attacks are totally ineffective against him while the territory is active, so even Saitama's epic punch would just phase right through.

    Baraggan Louisenbairn - 'Bleach'

Baraggan Louisenbairn is an Arrancar who serves as one of Aizen's most powerful henchmen. He possesses a unique ability that Saitama is unlikely to be able to overcome. His signature ability, Senescencia, allows him to not only slow time for anybody who enters his space, but to rapidly age anyone or anything he touches, essentially reducing them to a skeletal state.

Saitama might be fast enough to avoid getting hit, but if he wasn't expecting the Arrancar's strange ability, he could get slowed down enough for Baraggan to touch him. Saitama is immune to a lot of things, but the effects of time are not among them.
